1951 Ferguson
TO-30 serial # 71932. Although this was the first tractor we
bought, it was the second to be restored. That's a type L UO 20
front loader mounted on front. Mechanically this tractor was
sound, so this restoration mostly involved lots of cleaning and
scraping and a new coat of pain....er..a...I mean paint.
Although it looked rough it really did run pretty well. So far all the TO series tractors we have done have had seriously rusted out grills. This tractor was no exception.
When you
get to this point you always wonder if you'll ever get it put
together again. It's what Roger Welsh refers to as the
"Moment of Golden Turn Around" when you actually stop
tearing things apart and start reassemblely.
Finally, a matched pair. TO-20 and TO-30.
Two down and two to go.
